Offer competitiveness checker
Healthcare Headhunters recruits healthcare professionals for employers. No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire.
This is what we do all day: recruit healthcare professionals.
Place an offer against BLS percentiles for the role and metro. Works for employers and for candidates. Results show on screen with no email. Your inputs stay in your browser until you ask for a report.
All math runs in your browser using published BLS figures and the numbers you type. Nothing is sent until you request a report. Method: methodology. BLS OEWS May 2025.
What does the offer checker tell you before an interview?
Healthcare Headhunters compares the offer you enter with the published BLS wage points for the selected occupation and area. The result is a band between reported percentiles, not an exact percentile score. You should first confirm that the occupation mapping reasonably describes the role you need to hire.
The offer input uses the wage definition shown beside it. Include the pay elements that definition covers and leave out the elements it excludes. A figure from a candidate’s total benefits statement may not describe the same thing. Compare the stated cash pay rather than treating every part of a package as wages.
If you enter current pay, the second marker helps you see the two amounts on the same axis. It does not establish what increase a candidate needs to move. That decision belongs to the person. Ask about the schedule, commute, clinical work, and other unresolved parts of the offer.
A top-coded upper value is not an exact maximum salary. The checker explains when the source only gives a lower bound. We do not place an offer at a made-up point above that bound. The published points determine the comparison that can honestly be shown.
If the area estimate is unavailable, the result identifies the broader area used. Read that notice before calling the band local. An annual-only occupation is compared using annual pay. An hourly-only occupation is compared using hourly pay. A unit toggle cannot create a figure the release did not publish.
You can calculate without sending your offer input. The report gate is a separate action and asks for a work email. If you choose to contact us about the opening, the submitted context helps explain what you want to discuss. We do not make a candidate acceptance promise from a wage band.
Does this tool report an exact percentile for an offer?
No. BLS publishes specific percentile points. An offer between them is reported in a band. The tool does not interpolate a precise ranking.
Can a strong offer still fail to close a nurse?
Yes. The nurse may be deciding about a shift, commute, or unit rather than base pay alone. The wage comparison cannot answer those interview questions.
