What health plan and payer roles do we recruit for?
We recruit physicians, nurses, and operators for health plans and payer groups. Common roles include medical director, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed care leader, Stars and HEDIS manager, risk adjustment leader, network director, and provider relations manager. These seats are non-clinical, but they still depend on clinical judgment and clear documentation.
We also recruit for quality, compliance, accreditation, case management, and finance-adjacent work. Some openings are narrow. Others combine review work, reporting, and leadership. We separate those pieces before outreach, so the people you meet match the actual job.
What does the workday look like in payer seats?
A workday may start with chart review, measure tracking, provider questions, or meeting prep. The person may move between calls with clinical staff, operations, compliance, and network teams. Some days are heavy on written decisions. Other days center on discussion, escalation, and follow-up.
We ask who owns which decision. A physician advisor may approve or deny within plan policy. A nurse may prepare reviews or manage queues. A quality leader may own reports, audit follow-up, and team coaching. That split matters when we present candidates to you.
Which backgrounds fit these openings best?
Strong candidates often come from managed care, case management, quality, provider relations, medical review, or revenue cycle. Some arrive from hospital systems and move into payer work. Others already know Medicare Advantage or Medicaid managed care and want broader responsibility. The right path depends on what your opening asks them to do.
We ask for examples, not broad titles. We want to hear about chart review, appeals, audit work, network conversations, vendor contact, and reporting. If the role needs physician judgment, we look for direct experience with that work. If it is operational, we keep the search there.
How do you define a vague opening before search begins?
Bring us the title, reporting line, and the problem you want solved. Tell us what changes after this hire starts. That might be cleaner review flow, stronger provider communication, better Stars follow-up, or steadier support for network work. We turn that into a practical search brief.
We also ask about the desk, the team, and the limits around the role. That includes schedule, work location, state licensure, and policy boundaries. If two people on the team own different parts of the work, we separate those parts before outreach.
What do we screen for before your interview?
We screen for real work history tied to your opening. We ask what systems they used, what reports they owned, what decisions they made, and where they escalated issues. We also check how they handled disagreement with providers, reviewers, or internal leaders.
If the role touches Stars, HEDIS, risk adjustment, or network work, we ask directly about that work. If it needs a physician or nurse, we check the setting and scope that matter to you. That keeps the shortlist grounded in the exact seat, not in a broad healthcare label.
How does the search move from intake to offer?
We start with intake and write the search around the work, not just the title. Then we reach out to people who are not applying on job boards. We speak with them directly, qualify their background, and send you a short list with a written brief on each person.
After interviews, we stay involved through the offer stage. We clarify scope, reporting, and next steps. If the search is confidential, we keep that boundary in place. We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements.
What else should you ask about this search?
Can you recruit for a medical director who also handles plan operations?
Yes, we often see roles that mix physician review and administrative oversight. We ask which part of the job takes the most time and which decisions stay with the physician. That helps us screen for people who can handle the real work, not just the title.
Do you recruit for Stars, HEDIS, and risk adjustment openings?
We do. Those seats need people who know measures, audits, data review, and follow-up work. We ask how they handled reporting, chart review, and team coordination. We also check whether they have worked with Medicare Advantage or Medicaid managed care workflows.
What should we share before you start a payer search?
Send us the reporting line, work location, schedule, and the exact change you want from the hire. If the seat has state licensure limits or travel, tell us early. We use that to narrow the field before outreach begins.
Can you help with candidates who are already employed and not applying online?
Yes, many strong payer candidates are not posting resumes. We reach out directly and ask about the actual opening. That matters for network, review, quality, and provider relations roles where the best fit may be passive.

What do you get at each step of the search?
Our process for every search: calibrate the seat with you, map the market, research the real people, reach out to each one personally, qualify them in live conversation, then hand you a short list with a written brief on each person and support through the offer.
Search Calibration
You get an agreed brief: the work, reporting line, credentials, schedule, and offer you can make.
Market Mapping
You get a search aimed at relevant backgrounds, including people working now who have not applied.
Professional Contact Intelligence
We check appropriate ways to reach the people identified for your search. You do not have to chase them yourself.
Persistent Personalized Outreach
We explain your actual job and follow up with people who may consider a conversation.
Live Candidate Qualification
You see people we have spoken with about the work, interest, and practical fit, not an unread resume pile.
Candidate Intelligence and Process Support
You get a written brief and support through interviews and offer discussions. You make the hiring decision.
How long will it take to see a short list?
That depends on the job, schedule, available people, and what your employer can offer. We discuss those constraints before outreach and update you as candidates respond. We do not promise a fixed shortlist date. We check the job brief before arranging interviews. Tell us which parts of the role you can change.
What if a candidate receives a counteroffer?
We ask why the person wants to move and discuss competing decisions before an offer. A counteroffer can still change their choice. Keep the duties and offer clear rather than assuming more money settles every concern. Tell us early if parts of your offer cannot change, so the candidate hears it from us first.
What are the replacement terms?
We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement. Ask us to walk through those terms before you sign, so you know how a replacement would work for your opening and who would start it.
What do we not do in a standard permanent search?
We do not bill standard contingency search by the hour or simply repost your job. Temporary coverage is a separate arrangement. Any retainer or different engagement must be agreed, not assumed. Tell us early if you need coverage while the permanent search runs.
