What does the hire need to do?
Send us the role, where the person will work and what needs to change with this hire. We will ask about the work, not just the title. Share any license or schedule limits that could rule someone out before we begin the search.

What do we recruit for in hospitals and health systems?
We recruit for executives, physicians, nurses, and operational staff in hospitals and health systems. That can include single hospitals, multi-site systems, and service lines. We talk through who the person reports to, who they lead, and what changes you want after hire.
We work on permanent direct hire searches. On request, we also help with temporary coverage. We arrange locum tenens, travel and contract coverage on request. Credentialing, licensing and malpractice coverage are confirmed per engagement before anyone starts.
How do we define the work before we search?
We start with the actual day, not the title. For one leader, that may mean rounds, staffing calls, and unit issues. For another, it may mean budget review, manager meetings, and problem solving with physicians and operations. We ask what happens on a real shift.
We also ask who makes each decision. We want to know what belongs with the local leader and what goes to system leadership. We ask about union terms, survey timing, call coverage, schedule limits, and any split between campuses.
What do we screen for in hospital executive searches?
We screen for direct work in your setting. In hospitals and health systems, that often includes CMS readiness, Joint Commission survey work, Magnet goals, labor relations, and shared service coordination. We ask how the candidate handled daily pressure and mixed directions from several leaders.
We also look at where the person fits in your ladder. A manager, director, and VP do different work. A manager may handle day-to-day follow-up. A director may coach managers. A VP may set standards across sites and bring issues to the executive table.
What do we ask candidates during interviews?
We ask about the last unit, department, or system problem they handled. We want detail. We ask who was involved, what changed, how they communicated it, and what they watched afterward. General answers do not help you judge fit.
For physician and nursing leaders, we also ask how they work with medical staff, nursing teams, finance, and HR. If the role uses Epic, Oracle Health, Meditech, or another system, we ask where they used it and who relied on their reports.
How do we support hiring across a hospital system?
We search for people already working in similar settings, not only active applicants. That matters when you need someone who can work with multiple facilities, a union contract, or a service line that crosses sites. We speak with people in academic systems, nonprofit systems, regional groups, and independent hospitals.
We keep the search tied to the opening you have now. You send the reporting line, schedule, credential, and scope. We use that to shape outreach, interview notes, and the short list you review.
What should you expect from the hiring process?
You get a clear search brief before outreach starts. It covers the work, who the hire supports, and the decisions that belong in the role. That keeps the search focused on the job, not the title alone.
If the search includes a replacement agreement, we offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The signed agreement states the terms.
What else should you ask about this search?
How do you handle a hospital search with both local and system leadership involved?
We map which decisions stay at the hospital and which move to the system office. That keeps the search grounded in the real reporting structure. We also ask how often the person will meet with executives, managers, and physician leaders.
What if the role sits in a unionized unit or a Magnet setting?
We ask about labor rules, the issues that come up most, and how the team works together. For Magnet settings, we ask how the leader worked with nurses, educators, and managers on practice and retention matters. That helps us judge day-to-day fit.
Can you recruit for both a single hospital and a multi-facility system?
Yes, those searches are different, so we write them differently. A single hospital role often needs close on-site follow-up. A system role often needs cross-site coordination and comfort with larger decision groups.
Do you work on temporary coverage when we need it?
Yes, on request. We arrange locum tenens, travel and contract coverage on request. Credentialing, licensing and malpractice coverage are confirmed per engagement before anyone starts.

What do you get at each step of the search?
Our process for every search: calibrate the seat with you, map the market, research the real people, reach out to each one personally, qualify them in live conversation, then hand you a short list with a written brief on each person and support through the offer.
Search Calibration
You get an agreed brief: the work, reporting line, credentials, schedule, and offer you can make.
Market Mapping
You get a search aimed at relevant backgrounds, including people working now who have not applied.
Professional Contact Intelligence
We check appropriate ways to reach the people identified for your search. You do not have to chase them yourself.
Persistent Personalized Outreach
We explain your actual job and follow up with people who may consider a conversation.
Live Candidate Qualification
You see people we have spoken with about the work, interest, and practical fit, not an unread resume pile.
Candidate Intelligence and Process Support
You get a written brief and support through interviews and offer discussions. You make the hiring decision.
What are the fee and payment terms?
No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire. The signed agreement sets the fee and when it is due, along with the placement terms. We agree those terms before the search starts and before any candidate introductions. Temporary or contract coverage is a separate arrangement.
How long will it take to see a short list?
That depends on the job, schedule, available people, and what your employer can offer. We discuss those constraints before outreach and update you as candidates respond. We do not promise a fixed shortlist date. We check the job brief before arranging interviews. Tell us which parts of the role you can change.
What if a candidate receives a counteroffer?
We ask why the person wants to move and discuss competing decisions before an offer. A counteroffer can still change their choice. Keep the duties and offer clear rather than assuming more money settles every concern. Tell us early if parts of your offer cannot change, so the candidate hears it from us first.
What are the replacement terms?
We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement. Ask us to walk through those terms before you sign, so you know how a replacement would work for your opening and who would start it.
What do we not do in a standard permanent search?
We do not bill standard contingency search by the hour or simply repost your job. Temporary coverage is a separate arrangement. Any retainer or different engagement must be agreed, not assumed. Tell us early if you need coverage while the permanent search runs.
